Hurricane Katrina rumoured to be focus of new American Crime Story.

It seems that Ryan Murphy has already decided what will be the subject for Season 2 of  American Crime Story.  While the first season of FX’s fresh anthology is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s 1996 book, The Run of His Life : The People v. O. J. Simpson, the second season will focus on entirely different Crime Story, and though the decision has not been finalised The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Hurricane Katrina will be the focus of the new series, and is scheduled for fall 2016.

“Murphy says the working plan is to follow a group of six to eight people in an attempt to examine all sides of the tragedy, from the Superdome in New Orleans to the hospital to those who were put on buses and dropped off with babies who had to wear trash bags for multiple days.” the Hollywood Reporter reported.

First, the trial of O.J.Simpson and now, Hurricane Katrina: It seems like Murphy is trying to make a social statement, and isn’t afraid to go after the big stories!

Muprhy says his mission statement for the American Crime Story anthology is “to be a socially conscious, socially aware examination of different types of crime around the world. And in my opinion, Katrina was a f—ing crime — a crime against a lot of people who didn’t have a strong voice, and we’re going to treat it as a crime. That’s what this show is all about.”

American Crime Story will air on FX , starting 2nd February.
